The New Year brings new beginnings and it is with mixed emotions that I am announcing the retirement of founding member, my long time business partner and dear friend, Zozzie Golden.

Zozzie and I met over 16 years ago while volunteering at Beth T’filoh Day School. In May of 1996, after planning many school events together, we opened Zozzie & Heidi, Innovative Party Planners. Initially, we worked out of Zozzie’s basement. As the business grew, we grew out of her basement and into vacant bedrooms left behind by her children. Eventually we relocated our studio to a spacious custom outfitted warehouse, where it is presently located, in Owings Mills, MD.

Zozzie concentrated on sales and client development. Being a former pre-school teacher, she had a fabulous rapport with many of our Bar and Bat kids and their families. As the business continued to grow, Zozzie managed the office and day to day operations. Her creativity and devotion to the event business and to our clients were incredible.

In the past few years, Zozzie and her husband have been doing quite a bit of traveling to far corners of our world including a recent trip to China. Although we will all miss Zozzie, she has worked hard all of her career and has earned the opportunity to enjoy more time traveling and to spend time with her family and newest addition, her grandson.

Please join me in wishing Zozzie all the best in her retirement.

Sincerely,
Heidi Hiller
