In the early fall of 2014, we were approached by one of our clients to design her home for Thanksgiving. We met at her home and first looked through her dishes and decor on hand. Next we took measurements and snapped pictures of her dining room, kitchen and family rooms. Then we sat and together we looked at pictures of things she liked, colors, flowers, linens and all the elements that would go into her table decor. We talked about the menu, discussed the mood and feeling she wanted for her family celebration and the flow of her guests from room to room. For our client, Thanksgiving is about 3 generations gathering to share a joyous day, talk about all they are thankful for, eat her amazing cooking and to relax. So we set out to ensure she and her family felt her passion and joy through in our event styling and details.
We teamed up with My Flower Box and Select Event Group. We explored several color combinations. We considered the more traditional browns and rusts as well as some other color combinations to bring a calm to the day. In the end, she settled on celery green and steel blue. We accented the stunning flowers with hand-painted pumpkins, gold mercury votive candles, gold chargers, pears, succulents and created a unique napkin wrap with a message to her family.
We hope these pictures inspire you to dress up your holiday table this thanksgiving. Our client has us coming back again this year and while we have complied the same team of vendors, we plan to have a totally new look. We can’t wait to share it with you.
In the meantime, enjoy pictures from last year.
